Although I tend to just extemporise around these more common themes, I like to have at least some brief notes so that if I go wandering on some side road (either because it comes into my head, or because someone raises an issue) to help me get back on track and remind me of the main things I intended saying. However, the Qur'an references which according to the file should be related to this talk (which you can find here) are I think meant for Lesson Two of a previous syllabus. Either that, or I was perhaps previewing the next lesson - God knows best.

Reminder of Islam Iman Ihsan umbrella
Why the need for belief
Truth

These are the roots of the life transaction
They give true meaning to life

The belief of the common people in all these roots becomes, in the case of the elite, knowledge. This is because most people are not interested in theoretical proofs. For that reason the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not make those who became Muslims delve into these things. Instead he would make them firm since it was known that they would be separated from him. This was the way with the Khulafa rashidun and the guided scholars.

There are more things in heaven and earth Horatio than are dreamed of in your philosophy.
