The story of how I managed to write a long and complex thesis for one faculty on the relationship between its subject (education) and the subject I was teaching in another faculty (religious studies) and end up as I began (with no letters after my name) is something I will deal with more fully here, where I will also explain why I never got to do what I wanted to do when I started, and why my attempts to constrain myself within what I considered to be an archaic and obsolete system seemed to end up more like parody. But the research I would have liked to have presented, in a digital form I might have considered relevant, will have to wait until I have much more spare time. Until then, here's 120,000 words that got me nowhere.
