Time Out - 27/04/93
When
I was young, like any other kid, there were times when I did things
that I knew would land me in trouble. But although they seemed like
dreadful misdemeanours at the time, looking back it was just kid's
stuff, and I also did some good things which weighed in my favour
when I had to face the music.
My
parents and teachers presumably took my good side into account when
they handed out justice. That's the way justice works, even a
criminal in the jail gets time off for good behaviour. When humans
have such a capacity to forgive and forget, what should we expect
when we stand before God, the All-Merciful and All-Forgiving.
Qur'an
says: "What is with you comes to an end, but what is with God
abides; and surely We shall recompense those who were patient their
wage, according to the best of what they did. And whosoever, be it
male or female, does a righteous deed, believing, We shall assuredly
give them to live a goodly life; and We shall recompense them their
wage according to the best of what they did."
