God
So tell me
if everything comes from God, where did God come from?
God didn't come from anywhere.
God always was, God is, and God always will be,
and there's only One God like that Allah!
God was before all other things, and will be after all other things.
Nothing else is like Allah!
All things come from God.
God makes everything.
But to make something you need stuff to make it with.
Well that's mostly true.
Apart from God, everything we know is made from something else, somewhere, sometime.
But in the beginning, God made everything out of nothing.
That kind of making things is called Creation.
God Creates, and we are part of God's Creation.
God is the Creator.
God doesn't need anything to create something.
When God wishes for a thing, God just says "Be!" and it is.
And the God that is Creator of All is One.
In fact, in Arabic, God even has a special number.
Not the numbers you use when you count from one to ten, where one is just one of lots of different numbers.
The number One that we use for Allah is a number that has no other numbers like it.
One which is like no other.
OK. So everything comes out of the One God
and goes back to the One God,
but what does God do in between times?
In between times it is God's wanting us to be here that gives us all life,
and that keeps us all alive.
God gives us what we need to feed us,
and the Creation that we see around us moves because God wishes it.
Did you ever wonder at just how amazing Creation is?
The way that everything works together perfectly?
It's like everything is in balance.
There are things about Creation that Muslims look at to help understand God, the Creator,
things like the day and the night,
the sun, the moon and stars,
the animals and the plants,
and ourselves.
Muslims are told how to look for the Signs of God in the world around us, when they read the words of the Qur'an.
