You know there are not many people who would think of any particular flower as being ugly

They come in all sorts of different shapes and colours

but we see them all as beautiful in different ways

In fact we see them all as beautiful

because they are all different

Think how boring the world would be

if there was only one sort of flower

But it seems that people can never make up their minds

whether they want to be different

or to be the same as those around them

They like to wear the same fashions as their friends

but they like their own things to be a little bit different

to reflect who they are and the things they like best

They like to wear their favourite colours

but just because they have a favourite that doesn't mean

that they don't like all the other colours of the rainbow

And just because someone likes blue the best

that doesn't mean that they want to get rid of everything green from their world

or vice versa

That way we could end up with a blue sea and sky

but no green grass or leaves on the trees

People can't help but be born into into this world as different as their fingerprints

but then they spend their lives along with those around them

deciding what they think is good and bad

what they think is beautiful and what they think is ugly

But different people in different places around the world

see things in very different ways

and often disagree about what is good and what is beautiful

Deciding what is good and what is bad

is what a human's life is all about

From the time of the first man and woman

the ones we call Adam and Eve

humans have been trying to decide

what is good and bad for themselves

But when God made Adam and Eve from one soul

they were made knowing the best way for humans to live

pleasing God and at peace with one another

This way of behaving is know as Islam

Adam and Eve were muslim

And the simple muslim way of life that they followed

doing what is good and avoiding what is bad

is the ideal way of life for all of humankind

it is a way of life that muslims call the Fitrah
