God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
Ta Sin Mim
those are the Signs
of the Clear Book
perhaps you will
grieve to death
because they are not
believers
if We willed
We would
send down on them
a Sign out of heaven
so their necks would
be bent down
humble before it
but a fresh Reminder
never comes to them
from
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
without them
turning away from it
they have called it lies
so be sure
news will come to them
about
what they made fun of
have they not
seen the earth
how many
different things
We have caused
to grow there
of every noble kind?
surely in that is
a Sign
but most of them
do not believe
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
and when your Liege
called to Moses
"Go to the people
who do wrong
the people of
Pharaoh
will they not be
Mindful of God?"
he said
"My Liege
I am afraid they will
call me a liar
and my breath
will be tight
and my tongue
will be tied
so send Aaron
they also have
a crime
charged against me
and I am afraid
they will kill me"
said Hu
"No indeed
go
both of you
with Our Signs
and We will surely
be with you
listening
so go to Pharaoh
and say
'Truly
I am the Messenger of
the Liege of
all the worlds
so send
the Tribe of Israel
away with us'"
he said
"Did we not
bring you up
amongst us
as a child?
did you not
live with us
for many years
of your life
and you did
what you did
being ungrateful"
he said
"Indeed
I did it then
being one of those
that took the wrong way
so I ran away from you
being afraid of you
but my Liege
gave me judgement
and made me
one of the Messengers
and that for which
you find fault with me
is a blessing
compared to
making slaves of
the Tribe of Israel"
Pharaoh said
"And what is
the Liege of
all the worlds?"
he said
"The Liege of
the heavens and the earth
and what is
between them
if you know for sure"
he said
to those around him
"Do you not hear?"
he said
"Your Liege
and the Liege of
your family
before you
those from long ago"
he said
"Surely this Messenger
who was sent to you
is possessed"
he said
"The Liege of
the East and the West
and what is between them
if you have
understanding"
he said
"If you take a god
other than me
I will surely throw you
into prison"
he said
"What
even if
I brought you something
to make it evidently clear?"
he said
"Bring it then
if you are
telling the truth"
so he threw down
his staff
and suddenly
it was clearly now
a snake
and he drew out his hand
and it was shining white
to those who saw it
he said
to the ruling council
around him
"Surely this man is
a cunning sorcerer
who wants to
drive you out
from your land
by his magic
so what do you
recommend?"
they said
"Put him
and his brother
off for a while
and send messengers
around the cities
to bring you
every skilful sorcerer"
so the sorcerers
were gathered
for the time set
on the fixed day
and the people
were asked
"Are you all
gathered here?
so we can follow
the sorcerers
if they are the winners"
then when
the sorcerers came
they said to Pharaoh
"Will we be rewarded
if we are the winners?"
he said
"Yes indeed
and you will be among
those brought near"
Moses said to them
"Throw down
what you are going
to throw down"
so they threw down
their ropes
and their staffs
and said
"By the might of Pharaoh
we will be the winners"
then Moses
threw down his staff
and straight away
it swallowed up
their cheating
inventions
so the sorcerers
were humbled
and fell into Sajda
they said
"We believe in
the Liege of
all the worlds
the Liege of
Moses and Aaron"
he said
"You have believed him
before I gave you
permission
why
he is your leader
the one who
taught you magic
now you will know
I will surely cut off
your hands and feet
from both sides
then I shall
crucify you
all together"
they said
"We do not care
surely
to our Liege
we are turning
we are eager
that our Liege
might forgive us
our bad deeds
for being the first
of the believers"
and We revealed to Moses
"Go with My servants
by night
certainly
you will be followed"
then Pharaoh
sent messengers
among the cities
"See
this is just
a small group
but they are
making us angry
and we are
a large army
on the alert"
so We drove them out
from gardens
and fountains
and treasures
and noble standing
even so
and We gave them
to the Tribe of Israel
then
they followed them
at sunrise
and when
the two groups
saw each other
the companions
of Moses said
"They will overtake us"
he said
"No indeed
my Liege is with me
Hu will guide me"
then We said to Moses
"Strike the sea
with your staff"
and it split apart
and each part
was like
a giant mountain
and We brought the others
on into it
and We rescued Moses
and those with him
all together
then We drowned
the others
surely in that
is a Sign
yet most of them
do not believe
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
and tell them the story of
Abraham
when he said to his father
and his people
"What do you serve?"
they said
"We serve idols
and continue to
hold on to them"
he said
"Do they hear you
when you call out
or do they profit
or harm you?"
they said
"No
but that is what
we found
our parents doing"
he said
"And have you
thought about
what you have been
serving
you and your families
since long ago?
they are an enemy to me
all except
the Liege of
all the worlds
Hu created me
and Hu guides me
and Hu gives me
food and drink
and Hu heals me
when I am sick
Hu makes me die
then gives me life
and I hope
Hu will forgive me
my mistakes
on the Day of Rising
my Liege
give me good judgement
and join me alongside
those who do good
and give me
a tongue
that speaks truth
amongst the others
make me one of
those who receive
the Garden of Bliss
and forgive my father
for he is one of those
who have taken
the wrong way

and the Garden
will be brought near
for those who are
Mindful of God
and the Fire will be shown
to those who
took the wrong way
it will be said to them
"Where is what
you were serving
apart from God?
do they help you
or help themselves?"
then they shall be
thrown into it
with all those
that take the wrong way
and the armies of Iblis
all together
they will say
as they argue there
one with another
"By God
we clearly took
the wrong way
when we made you
equal to
the Liege of
all the worlds
it was only because
those who did wrong
led us in
the wrong way
so now we have no one
to plead for us
no loyal friend
if only we could
go back again
and be among
the believers"
surely
in that is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
the people of Noah
called the Messengers liars
when their brother Noah
said to them
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?"
I am a
faithful Messenger
to you
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
I do not ask you
for a wage for this
my wage depends only on
the Liege of
all the worlds
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
they said
"Why should we
believe you
when only
the worst of people
follow you?"
he said
"What do I know
about what
they have been doing?
their reckoning
depends only on
my Liege
if you only knew
I will not drive away
those who believe

a clear warner"
they said
"Noah
if you do not stop this
you will be stoned"
he said

have called me a liar
so make a firm judgement
between me and them
and rescue me
and the believers
that are with me"
so We rescued him
and those with him
in the loaded ship
then afterwards
We drowned the rest
surely in that
is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is

and those of Ad
said the Messengers
were liars
when their brother

said to them
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?"
I am for you
a faithful Messenger
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
I do not ask you
for a wage for this
my wage depends only on
the Liege of
all the worlds
do you build
monuments
on every high place
for your amusement
and do you build
great castles
hoping to live forever?
when you attack people
you attack them
like tyrants
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
and be Mindful of Hu
Hu has given you
what you know
given you livestock
and children
and gardens
and fountains
indeed
I fear for you
the punishment of
a dreadful day"
they said
"It is the same to us
if you scold us
or do not scold us
this is nothing except
what was done
by the people of old
and we will not
be punished"
so they called him a liar
then We destroyed them
surely in that
is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
and those of Thamood
said the Messengers
were liars
when their brother
Salih
said to them
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?"
I am for you
a faithful Messenger
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
I do not ask you
for a wage for this
my wage depends only on
the Liege of
all the worlds
will you be left safe
in all this
the gardens
and fountains
the sown fields
and palm trees
with fine leaves?
will you still
apply your skill
to cutting houses
out of the mountains?
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
and do not obey
the orders of
those given to excess
who spread sickness
on the earth
and do not
put things right"
they said
"You are just
someone bewitched
you are nothing but
a human like us
so give us a Sign
if you are telling the truth"
he said
"This is a she-camel
for her a time to drink
and for you a time to drink
on appointed days
and do not do
anything to harm her
or else you will be
seized by
the punishment
of a dreadful day"
but they cut
her hamstrings
and in the morning
they were sorry
and the punishment
seized them
surely in that
is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
and the people of Lot
said the Messengers
were liars
when their brother Lot
said to them
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?
I am for you
a faithful Messenger
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
I do not ask you
for a wage for this
my wage depends only on
the Liege of
all the worlds
do you lust after
men in this world
leaving the wives
that your Liege
created for you?
you are a people
who have gone
beyond the bounds"
they said
"Lot
if you do not stop
you will surely be
driven out"
he said
"Truly I detest what you do
My Liege
rescue me and my people
from what they do"
so We rescued him
and his people
all together
except for
one old woman
who remained behind
then We destroyed
the others
and We rained down
a rain upon them
and evil is the rain
on those that are warned
surely in that
is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
and the companions of
the Woods
said the Messengers
were liars
when Shuaib said to them
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?
I am for you
a faithful Messenger
so be Mindful of God
and do what I say
I do not ask you
for a wage for this
my wage depends only on
the Liege of
all the worlds
fill up the measure
and do not cheat
and weigh with
a level balance
and do not
reduce people's goods
and do not
make mischief
in the world
spreading sickness
be Mindful of Hu
Hu created you
and the generations
of olden times"
they said
"You are just
someone bewitched
you are nothing but
a mortal like us
and we think that
you are a liar
so make pieces of heaven
drop down on us
if you are telling the truth"
he said
"My Liege knows very well
what you are doing"
but they called him a liar
and they were seized
by the punishment of
the Day of Shadow
surely it was
the punishment of
a dreadful day
surely in that
is a Sign
but most of them
are not believers
surely
your Liege is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
truly it is
a revelation from
the Liege of
all the worlds
brought down by
the Faithful Spirit
upon your heart
so you may be
one of the warners
in a clear Arabic tongue
truly it is in the psalms
of those who lived before
was it not a Sign for them
that the scholars of
the Tribe of Israel
have knowledge of it?
if We had sent it down
to someone who
did not speak Arabic
and they had
recited it to them
they still would not
have believed it
even so
We have caused it
to enter into the hearts
of those who do wrong
who will not believe in it
until they see
the painful punishment
so it will come upon them
suddenly
while they are not aware
and they will say
"Can we be given
some relief?"
so do they want
to hurry along
Our punishment?
do you think
if We gave them
days of enjoyment
for many years
and then
there came upon them
what they were promised
what use would it be to them
the enjoyment of
those days they were given?
We never destroyed a city
that did not have warners
for a reminder
and We were never unjust
and it was not
brought down
by the Satans
that is not right
for them to do
nor can they
truly they are
kept from hearing it
so do not call out to
another god with God
so that you become
one of those
who are punished
and warn your clan
your close family
and take those believers
who follow you
under your wing
then if they disobey you
say
"I am finished with
the things you do"
put your trust
in
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
who sees you
when you stand
and when you move
with those making Sajda
surely Hu is
the All-Hearing
the All-Knowing
shall I tell you
upon whom
the Satans come down?
they come down on
every evil liar
they listen
but most of them are liars
and as for the poets
the misled follow them
have you not seen
how they wander
through every valley
and say things
which they do not do?
except for those
who believe
and do good deeds
and remember God often
and take care of themselves
after wrong has been
done to them
and those who do wrong
will surely soon know
the overturning
that will overturn them
