By the Name
God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
you who believe
do not take
My enemy and your enemy
as friends
offering them love
though they are
ungrateful
for the truth
that has come to you
driving out the Messenger
and yourselves
because you believe in
God your Liege
if you go out
to struggle in My Way
and to search out
My good pleasure
keeping secret
your love for them
still I know very well
what you hide
and what you show
and whoever of you does that
has gone astray
from the right way
if they come upon you
they will be your enemies
and stretch out
their hands and tongues
against you
to do you evil
hoping that you might be
ungrateful
neither your family
nor your children
will be of use to you
on the Day of Rising
Hu will separate you out
and God sees
the things you do
you have had
a good example
in Abraham
and those with him
when they said to their people
"We are done with you
and what you serve
apart from God
we disagree with you
and between you and us
will be enmity
and hatred for ever
until you believe
in God alone"
except for Abraham's words
to his father
"I will ask that
you be forgiven
but I have no power
to do anything for you
against God
our Liege
in You we trust
to You we turn
to You is the homecoming
our Liege
do not make us
a temptation
to those who are
ungrateful
and forgive us
our Liege
You are
the All-Powerful
the Wise"
in them you have
a good example
for whoever hopes for
God and the Last Day
and whoever turns away
surely God is
Rich-beyond-Need
Most-Praiseworthy
it may be that God
will restore the love
between you and those
with whom you are enemies
God is
All-Capable
God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
God does not forbid you
to be kind to those
who have not fought you
over your Way of Life
nor driven you out
from where you live
act with justice towards them
surely God loves
those who are just
God only forbids you
from taking as friends
those who have fought you
over your Way of Life
and driven you out
from where you live
or supported those
who drove you out
those who take them
as friends
are the wrong doers
you who believe
when women who believe
make Hijra to be with you
test them
God knows very well
what they believe
then if you find
that they believe
do not return them
to those who are
ungrateful
those women are not
allowed for them
nor are they permitted
for those women
give those who are
ungrateful
whatever they have
cost them
and then there is
no blame for you
if you marry them
after you pay them
their dowry
do not hold fast
to any marriage ties
with those who are
ungrateful
ask for what you spent
and let them ask
for what they have spent
that is God's judgement
Hu judges between you
and God is
All-Knowing
Wise
and if any of your wives
leave you to return to
those who are
ungrateful
you should be compensated
so give those whose wives
have gone away
what they have spent
on their dowry
and be Mindful of God
in Hu you believe
O Newsbringer
when women who believe
come to you
and swear loyalty to you
on the grounds that
they will not take anything
as a god along with God
and will not steal
or be unfaithful
to their partners
or kill their children
or lie about who is
the father of their children
or disobey you
in anything that is right
then accept their promise
and ask God
to forgive them
God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
you who believe
do not take as companions
people against whom
God is angry
who have no hope
for the world to come
just as those who are
ungrateful
have given up hope
for those in their graves
