God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
by the night
when it covers over
and the day
when it reveals
and the Creator
of male and female
surely your efforts
are to different ends
as for those who give
and are
Mindful of God
and recognise
what is good
We will ease their way
to comfort
but as for those
who are mean
looking out for themselves
calling the good lies
We will ease their way
to hardship
their wealth will be
of no use to them
when they die
surely on Us rests
the guiding
and to Us belong
the Last and the First
now I have warned you
of a Fire which rages
before which
none but the worst
will be roasted
those who called it lies
and turned away
and from which
those Mindful of God
will be taken away
those who
give away their wealth
to purify themselves
not to repay others
for favours done
only in search of
the Face of their Liege
the Highest
and they will surely
be satisfied
