Strathclyde Regional Council

At some point in the 80's the Education Dept. of Strathclyde Regional Council got to hear about me (I think it must have been through my interfaith work) and called me up to get my advice on the Islamic aspects of the 'multicultural' content of a range of support materials they were in the process of producing. Despite my input, I didn't do any of the actual writing for that material, so none of it is here. When they finally thought they could trust me, however, I was called in for various Staff Development Programmes (a couple of samples of which are here), plus any number of talks to children in classes from early primary to late secondary (two samples here). With the advent of the new 5-14 Curriculum, Staff Development took on a new urgency (I was involved in workshops for all Primary and most Secondary Head Teachers as well as Religious & Moral Education (RME) teachers, and Personal & Social Development (PSD) teachers), and produced the 'Islam' support material at that time.
