The
Open
Road

Good Choice

Because the Open Road is where we live our lives,

it's the road that runs from being born to dying.

And on the road we take through life

we will see lots of wonderful things,

but the road can also be full of danger,

things that hurt us and cause us harm.

So we need to discover the best way to travel,

that makes our lives easy

as we wander on our way.

We want a way that helps us to see what is wonderful,

but that also protects us from the pain and damage of the world

as we travel on the journey of our lives.

You see, it's like a jungle out there!

And some things like to eat other things for dinner.

Spiders eat flies,

birds eat spiders,

and cats eat birds.

Almost everything in the world has something else that eats it

sooner or later.

It's the way that Nature works.

But which animal do you think is the most dangerous of them all?

A lion?

An alligator?

A rhinoceros?

A killer whale?

No - it's humans.

They even invent amazing machines to kill each other better.

Humans are really too dangerous to themselves for God to leave them at each other's mercy.

They hurt themselves and they hurt each other.

So God showed them a way of life

that if they lived it would bring them ease,

a Way of Life that we call the Deen.

Now, to live in that Way of Life

we have to learn what is good and what is bad,

and then live our lives in a good way.

Live in a good way and you have a good life.

It's a way of life we call the Straight Path,

and to learn about it we need to look at the ways we think and feel,

the ways that we act,

and the ways that we live our lives together.

Which way
do you want to go?
