sent down to you
so do not let
your breast
be anxious
because of it
to warn by it
and as a Reminder
to the believers
follow what has been
sent down to you
from your Liege
and follow no friends
other than Hu
little do you remember
how many a city
We have destroyed
Our force came upon them
at night
or while they relaxed
in the mid-day
and all they cried out
when our force
came upon them
was
"Truly we were unjust"
so We shall question
those to whom
a Message was sent
and We shall question
the Messengers
and We shall
tell them about it
with knowledge
surely
We were not absent
the weighing
that day
is true
whoever has scales
that are heavy
they are the ones
who are successful
and whoever has scales
that are light
they have lost themselves
by rejecting Our Signs
We have put you
on the earth
and given you
a way of living there
little thanks you show
We created you
then We shaped you
then We said to the Angels
"Make Sajda to Adam"
so they made Sajda
except Iblis
it was not
one of those
that made Sajda
said Hu
"What stopped you
from making Sajda
when I commanded you"
it said
"I am better than that
You made me of fire
and you made him of clay"
said Hu
"Get down out of this
it is not for you
to grow proud here
so get out
surely you are among
those laid low"
it said
"Grant me a reprieve
until the day
they shall be raised"
said Hu
"You are among the ones
that are reprieved"
it said
"Now
for your leading me
to take the wrong way
I will surely sit
in ambush for them
on Your straight path
then I shall come on them
from before them
and from behind them
from their right hand
and their left hand
You will not find
most of them thankful"
said Hu
"Get out of here
shamed and banished
as for those of them
that follow you
I will surely fill Hell
with all of you"
"Adam
you and your wife
live in the Garden
and eat whatever you like
but do not go near
this tree
so that you are not
of those who do wrong"
then Satan
whispered to them
to show them
what was hidden from them
parts of them
that made them ashamed
it said
"Your Liege has only
kept you from this tree
to keep you from
becoming Angels
or those who live forever"
and it promised them
"Truly I am one of those
who give you good advice"
so it led them on
deceiving them
and when they tasted
from the tree
the parts that
made them ashamed
were shown to them
so they took to
stitching together
leaves of the Garden
over themselves
and their Liege
called to them
"Did I not tell you
to keep away from this tree?
and say to you
that Satan is
a clear enemy to you?"
they said
"Liege we have
done wrong to ourselves
and if You do not forgive us
and have mercy on us
we will surely be
among the lost"
said Hu
"Go down from here
as enemies to each other
to spend on earth
a fixed time
and enjoyment
for a while"
said Hu
"There you will live
and there you will die
and from there
you will be brought out"
Children of Adam
We have sent down clothing
to cover your shameful parts
and as things of beauty
but being
Mindful of God
is a better covering
that is one of God's Signs
hopefully they will remember
Children of Adam
do not let Satan tempt you
in the way that
it brought your parents
out of the Garden
stripping them
of what covered them
and showing them
their shameful parts
surely it sees you
it and its tribe
from where
you cannot see them
We have made the Satans
the friends of those
who do not believe
and whenever they do
something shameful
they say
"We found those before us
doing it
and God has told us to do it"
say
"God does not tell you
to do shameful things
do you say about God
what you do not know?"
say
"My Liege has ordered
justice"
stand and face Hu
in every mosque
and call on Hu
and make your Way of Life
sincerely Hu's
as Hu made you
in the beginning
so you shall return
one group Hu guided
and another group
are led to
take the wrong way
as they deserve
they have taken

for friends

what is shameful
what is hidden
and what shows
and bad deeds
and unjust aggression
and that you
give partners
to God
for which Hu never
gave you authority
and that you
say about God
what you do not know"
to every community
a fixed time
when their time comes
they will not hold it back
by a single hour
nor bring it forward
Children of Adam
if Messengers come to you
from among you
telling you of
My Signs
then those who are
Mindful of God
and make amends
no fear will be on them
nor will they sorrow
and those that call
Our Signs
lies
and grow proud
against them
they will be those
who live in the Fire
living there
forever
and who does worse
than someone
who makes up a lie
against God
or calls Hu's Signs
lies
those people
their share of the Book
will reach them
until
when Our messengers
come to them
to take them away
they say
"Where are those
you called on
apart from God"
they will say
"They have left us"
and will be witness
against themselves
that they were ungrateful
Hu will say
"Join the communities
that passed away
before you
jinn and humans
into the Fire"
every community
curses
its fellow communities
as it enters
then when they are all
gathered inside
the last of them
will say to
the first of them
"Our Liege
these led us
to take
the wrong way
so give them
a double punishment
of the Fire"
Hu will say
"Each will receive double
but you do not know it"
the first of them
will say to
the last of them
"You are
no better than us then
so taste the punishment
you deserve"
as for those who
call Our Signs lies
and grow proud
against them
the gates of heaven
will not be opened to them
nor will they
enter Paradise
until a camel goes through
the eye of a needle
this is how
We punish the guilty
Hell
will be their cradle
and covering
layers
above them
this way
We repay
those who do wrong
and those who believe
and do good deeds
We do not give anyone
more than they can bear
those are the ones
living in the
Garden
living there forever
We shall draw out
all envy
that is in their breast
and rivers will flow
beneath them
and they will say
"Grateful praise
belongs to God
Hu guided us to this
had God not guided us
we surely
never would
have been guided
the Messengers of our Liege
came with the truth"
and a voice will call out
"This is your Garden
you have been given it
as what you receive
for what you did"
those who live in
the Garden
will call out
to those who live in
the Fire
"We have found out that
what our Liege promised us
is true
have you found out that
what your Liege promised you
is true?"
and they will say
"Yes"
then a voice
from between them
will call out
"God rejects
those who do wrong
those who turned others
away from God's path
wanting to make it crooked
and are not grateful
for the world to come"
and between them
is a veil
and on the Heights
those who know
each person
by their mark
who shall call to those
who live in the Garden
"Peace be on you"
they will not enter
but they will be hoping
and when their eyes
are turned towards
those who live in
the Fire
they shall say
"Our Liege
do not put us with
those who do wrong"
and the companions of
the Heights
will call to those
they know by their mark
"What you saved
was of no use to you
nor was the way
you grew proud"
are these the ones
that you said
God's mercy
would never reach?
"Enter the Garden
you will feel
no more fear
you will feel
no more sorrow"
those who live in
the Fire
will call out
to those who live in
the Garden
"Pour on us water
or what God
has given you"
they will say
"God has forbidden them
to those who were
ungrateful
who have taken
their way of life
as an amusement
and a game"
so today We forget them
as they forgot
the meeting
on this their day
and they rejected
Our Signs
and We have
brought to them
a Book
that We have made clear
based on knowledge
a guide and a mercy
to those who believe
do they look for
anything else
apart from
how to understand it?
the day that
understanding comes
those who forgot it
shall say
"Indeed
the Messengers of our Liege
came with the truth
do we have anyone
to plead for us
or will we be returned
to do something
other than what we did?"
they have indeed
lost their souls
and what they were
making up
has gone astray from them
surely your Liege is
God
Hu created
the heavens and the earth
in six days
then sat upon
the Throne
covering the day
with the night
each chasing the other
urgently
and the sun
and the moon
and the stars
under Hu's command
truly to Hu belong
the creation
and the command
blessed be God
the Liege of
all the worlds
call on your Liege
without pride
secretly
Hu does not love
those who
step beyond the bounds
do not spread sickness
in the land
after it has been set right
and call on Hu
fearfully and eagerly
surely
the mercy of God
is close to

We turn around the Signs
for a people
who are thankful
and We sent Noah
to his people
and he said
"My people
serve God

truly I fear for you
the punishment
of a dreadful day"
but the leader of his people
said
"We see you
as clearly mistaken"

"My people
there is no mistake in me
I am a Messenger from
the Liege of

so We saved him
and those with him

and We drowned those
who called our Signs lies
surely they were

blind
and to the people of Ad

he said
"My people
serve God

but the leaders of
the ungrateful ones
among his people
said
"We think you are
a fool
and we think you are
a liar"
he said
"My people
in no way am I a fool
I am only
a Messenger from
the Liege of all the Worlds
I deliver to you
the Message of my Liege
I am your advisor
honest and trustworthy
do you wonder
that a Reminder
from your Liege
should come to you
from the lips of
a man from among you
to warn you?
remember when

their brother Salih
said
"My people
serve God
you have no other god

there has now come to you
a Clear Sign from your Liege
this is God's she-camel
to be a Sign for you
leave her alone
to eat on God's earth
and do not do her harm
or you will be taken by
a painful punishment
and remember when
Hu made you follow
after the people of Ad

you built palaces
on its plains
and carved its mountains
into houses
remember God's gifts
and do not go
about the earth
spreading sickness"

"We believe
in the Message

who had grown proud
said
"We do not believe
in what you believe in"
so they crippled
the she-camel
and defied the command
of their Liege
saying
"Salih
bring us what you promise us
if you are a Messenger"
so the earthquake
seized them
and the morning found them
lying crushed in their homes
so he turned his back
on them
and said
"My people
I have delivered to you
the Message of my Liege
and advised you
but you did not like
good advice"
and Lot said to his people
"Do you do foul deeds
such as were never done
by anyone in all the world
before you?
you focus your appetites
on men instead of women
you are people
that go too far
and the only answer
of his people
was that they said
"Throw them out
of your city
they are people
who keep themselves pure"
so We saved him
and his family
except his wife
she was one of those
who stayed behind
and We rained down
a rain upon them
and see how was the end
of those who did wrong
and to Midian
their brother Shuaib
said
"My people
serve God
you have no other god
only Hu
there has now come to you
a Clear Sign
from your Liege
so give full measure
and fill up the balance
and do not undervalue
other people's goods
and do not
spread sickness
in the land
after it has been
made right
that is better for you
if you believe
and do not sit
on every path
making threats
and trying to keep
those who believe in Hu
from God's Way
wanting to make it
crooked
and remember
when you were few
and Hu
increased your number
and see how was the end
of those who
spread sickness

a group of you
who believe

be patient

judges between us

so he turned his back
on them
and said
"My people

the Message of my Liege
and I gave you good advice
why should I feel sorry
for those who were
ungrateful"
We have never sent
a Newsbringer
to any city
without
taking its people
into misery
and hard times
so hopefully
they lose their pride
then We gave them
good instead of bad
until they grew in number
and said
"Our families before us
also had hard times
as well as success"
so We took them
suddenly
when they did not
expect it
but if the peoples
of those cities
had believed
and been
Mindful of God
We would have
opened up to them
blessings
from heaven and earth
but they said it was lies
so We took them
for what they deserved
do the people
of the cities
feel safe
that Our power will not
come on them at night
while they are sleeping?
do the people
of the cities
feel safe
that Our power will not
come on them in daylight
while they are playing?
do they feel safe
against what God plans
no-one can feel safe
against what God plans
apart from
those who are lost
is it not clear
to those who
receive the land
after those who
used to live there
that if We wanted
We would strike them
because of their bad deeds
sealing up their hearts
so they do not hear?
those cities
We have given you
stories of
their Messengers
came to them
with the Clear Signs
but they were not
the kind that believe
as they had
called it lies before
and so God seals up
the hearts
of those who are
ungrateful
We found that
most of them
did not keep their promises
We found that
most of them
acted wickedly
then after them
We sent Moses
with Our Signs
to Pharaoh
and the leaders of
his followers
but they rejected them
so see how the end came
to the spreaders of sickness
Moses said
"Pharoah
I am a Messenger
from the Liege
of all the Worlds
bound to say nothing
regarding God
except the truth
I have brought a Clear Sign
to you from your Liege
so let the Tribe of Israel
leave with me"
he said
"If you have brought a Sign
produce it
if you speak the truth"
so he threw down his staff
and it clearly
became a snake
and he drew out his hand
and it shone white
for all to see
but the leaders of
the followers of Pharoah
said
"Surely this man is
a skilled magician
who wants to
drive you out of your land
what do you command?"
they said
"Delay him and his brother
for a while
and send people to the cities
where people gather
to bring you
every skilled magician"
and the magicians
came to Pharaoh
saying
"Will we be rewarded
if we are the winners?"
he said
"Yes indeed
and you shall be among
those close to me"
they said
"Moses
will you cast first
or will we cast?"
he said
"You cast"
and when they cast
they put a spell
on peoples eyes
and made them afraid
and produced
a powerful magic
and We revealed to Moses
"Cast down your staff"
and it swallowed up
what they had
made happen
so the truth came
and what they were doing
was proved false
so they were beaten
then and there
and they were
turned around
and their pride
taken from them
and the magicians
threw themselves down
in Sajda
they said
"We believe in
the Liege of all the Worlds
the Liege of
Moses and Aaron"
Pharaoh said
"You have believed in Hu
before I gave you
permission
surely this is a plot
you have made in the city
to drive its people out of it
now you shall know
I will surely cut off
your hands and feet
one after the other
then I will crucify you
all together"
they said
"Surely
to our Liege
we are turning
you only take
revenge on us
because we have believed
in the Signs of our Liege
when they came to us
our Liege
pour out on us
patience
and gather us to You
surrendered"
then the leaders of
the followers of Pharaoh
said
"Will you leave
Moses and his people
to spread sickness
in the land
and leave
you and your gods?"
he said
"We will kill all their sons
and keep
their women alive
surely we have
absolute power over them"
said Moses to his people
"Ask for help from God
and be patient
surely the earth
belongs to God
and Hu gives it to
whoever Hu wills
among Hu's servants
success in the end
comes to those who are
Mindful of God"
they said
"We have been hurt
both before you came to us
and after you came to us"
he said
"Perhaps your Liege
will destroy your enemy
and give you the land
so that Hu may see
how you will do"
then We gave
Pharaoh's people
years of drought
and failed crops
so they might remember
and when
good came to them
they said
"This is what we deserve"
but when they were hit
by hard times
they would say
"It was the fault of Moses
and those who
followed him"
but surely the blame
for their hard times
lay with God
but most of them
did not know
and they said
"Whatever Sign
you bring to us
to cast a spell upon us
we will not believe you"
so We let loose on them
the flood and the locusts
the lice and the frogs
and the blood
clearly shown Signs
but they still grew proud
and were a wicked people
and whenever
Hu's anger fell on them
they said
"Moses
pray to your Liege for us
by the promise
Hu has made to you
if you take Hu's anger
away from us
we will believe you
and send the Tribe of Israel
away with you"
but when We lifted
the anger away from them
and gave them time
they broke their promise
so We took
revenge on them
and drowned them
in the sea
because they
called Our Signs lies
and paid
no attention to them
and We gave
to the people
who had been made low
all the east and the west
of the land We had blessed
and your Liege's
good promise
to the Tribe of Israel
came to pass
because they suffered
patiently
and We destroyed the works
of Pharaoh and his people
and what
they had been building
and We brought
the Tribe of Israel
over the sea
and they came upon
a people
worshipping
idols they had
they said
"Moses
make a god for us
like they have gods"
he said
"You are surely
an ignorant people
what these people
are following
will be destroyed
and what they are doing
is worthless"
he said
"Shall I look for a god for you
other than God
Hu has favoured you
above all others?"
and We saved you from
the people of Pharaoh
who caused you to suffer
great punishment
killing your sons
and keeping
your women alive
and in that
was a terrible trial
from your Liege
and We set aside
thirty nights
for Moses
and completed them
with ten
so the time set by his Liege
was forty nights
and Moses said
to his brother Aaron
"Be my successor here
among my people
and put things right
and do not follow
the ways of those
who spread sickness"
and when Moses came
to the time We set
and his Liege
spoke with him
he said
"My Liege
show me Yourself
so I may look at You"
Hu said
"You shall not see Me
but look at the mountain
if it stays firm in its place
then you shall see Me"
and when his Liege
showed Hu
to the mountain
Hu made it into dust
and Moses fell to the ground
unconscious
when he awoke he said
"Glory be to You
I turn to You
for forgiveness
I am the first
of the believers"
said Hu
"Moses
I have chosen you
above all humankind
for My Message
and My Word
take what I have given you
and be of those who are
thankful"
and We wrote about it all
on the Tablets for him
as a warning
and making things clear
so take hold of it firmly
and command your people
to hold fast
to the beauty of it
I shall show you
the home of
the wicked
I shall turn
away from My Signs
those who
grow proud in the earth
with no justice
though they see every Sign
they will not believe in it
and though they see
the right way
they will not
take it for a way
but if they see
the wrong way
that is the way
they will take
because
they called Our Signs lies
and paid no attention
to them
those who
called Our Signs lies
and the meeting
in the world to come
their actions
will be as nothing
will they be repaid
for other than
what they did?
and the people of Moses
after he was gone
took for themselves
a Calf
made of their ornaments
in a shape that made
a lowing sound
did they not see
that it did not speak to them
and did not guide them
in any way?
yet they took it for themselves
and they were wrong doers
and when they
hit their hands
and saw that they had
taken the wrong way
they said
"If our Liege
does not have mercy on us
and does not forgive us
surely we shall be
with the lost"
and when Moses
came back to his people
he was angry and sad
he said
"What evil have you done
in the time
you were here
without me
after I left
are you so keen
to hurry to
the command of
your Liege?"
and he cast down
the Tablets
and took hold of
his brother's head
dragging him to him
he said
"Son of my mother
surely
the people
have shamed me
and almost killed me
do not make
my enemies gloat over me
and do not put me among
those who do wrong"
he said
"My Liege
forgive me
and my brother
and let us enter
into Your mercy
You are
the Most-Merciful
of the merciful"
surely those who
took for themselves
the Calf
anger from their Liege
will catch them
and disgrace
in this present life
so we repay those who
make up their own gods
and those who
do bad deeds
and then are sorry
and believe after that
surely
your Liege is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
and when Moses anger
eased away from him
he took the Tablets
and what was
written on them
was a guide and a mercy
to all who hold
their Liege
in awe
and Moses chose
from his people
seventy men
for Our appointed time
and when
the earthquake
shook them
he said
"My Liege
if You had willed
You would have
destroyed them before
and me
will You destroy us for what
the foolish ones of us
have done?
it is only Your test
in which You lead
whoever You will
to take the wrong way
and guide
whoever You will
You are our Protector
so forgive us
and have mercy on us
for You are
the best of forgivers
and choose for us
good in this world
and in the world to come
we have truly turned to You
for forgiveness"

"I strike with My punishment
whoever I will
and My mercy
embraces all things
and I will choose it

telling them to do right
and forbidding them
to do wrong
making lawful for them
the good things
and unlawful for them
the things that
spread sickness
and lifting
their loads from them
and the chains
that were on them
those who believe in him
and support him
and help him
and follow the light
that has been
sent down with him
those are
the successful ones"
say
"Humankind
I am the
Messenger of God
to you all
to Hu belongs control
of the heavens and the earth
there is no god but Hu"
Hu gives life
and makes to die
so believe in God
and in Hu's Messenger
the Newsbringer
who could not read
who believes in God
and Hu's words
and follow him
hopefully
you will be guided
of the people of Moses
there is a group
who guide by the truth
and act justly by it
and We divided them up
into twelve tribes
communities
and We revealed to Moses
when his people
asked him for water
"Hit the rock with your stick"
and there gushed out from it
twelve fountains
and all the people
now knew
their drinking place
and We spread out
the cloud
to shade them
and We sent down on them
manna and quails
"Eat of the good things
We have given you"
and they did not wrong Us
they wronged themselves
when it was said to them
"Live in this town
and eat in it
wherever you wish"
and say
"Take away
the load we carry"
and enter through the gate
in Sajda
We will forgive you
your bad deeds
and increase the reward
of those who do good
then those of them
who did wrong
changed what was said
to something
that had not
been said to them
so We sent down upon them
anger out of heaven
for their wrong doing
and ask them about
the town that was
by the seas
when they broke
the Sabbath
when their fish
came to them
on the day of their Sabbath
swimming
towards the shore
but on the day
they did not
keep the Sabbath
they did not come to them
in this way
We tested them
because they disobeyed
and when
a group of them said
"Why do you warn a people
that God is about to destroy
or punish with
a terrible punishment"
they said
"So we can have an excuse
to give to your Liege
and in the hope
they might be
Mindful of God"
so when they forgot
what they had been
reminded of
We saved those who were
forbidding wickedness
and seized those
who did evil
with a dreadful punishment
because
they had disobeyed
and when
they turned away in pride
ignoring what they were told
We said to them
"Become apes
looked down on
and cast out"
and when
your Liege announced
Hu would
send against them
until the Day of Rising
people who would
bring them
a terrible punishment
surely your Liege
is quick in repayment
surely Hu is
All-Forgiving
Most-Merciful
and We divided them into
communities on the earth
some doing good
and some not
and We tested them
with good and bad things
so hopefully
they would come back
and there followed
after them
one after another
those who
received the Book
taking what they could
in this lower world
and saying
"We will be forgiven"
and if things like that
come to them by chance
they will take them
do they think that
the promise of the Book
does not apply to them
that they should say
nothing about God
except the truth?
and they have studied
what is in it
and the final home is better
for those who are
Mindful of God
do you not understand?
and those who
hold tight to the Book
and make Sala
surely We do not
leave to waste
the reward of those
who put things right
and when We shook
the mountain above them
like a shadow over them
and they thought
it was going to fall on them
hold firmly on to
what We have given you
and remember what is in it
hopefully you will be
Mindful of God
and when your Liege
took from the
Children of Adam
from their sex
all those who
came after
and made them witness
for themselves
"Am I not your Liege?"
they said
"Yes
we witness it"
in case you might say
on the Day of Rising
"We knew
nothing about this"
or in case you say
"Our families before us
worshipped idols
and we just
came after them
are You going to destroy us
for what was done
by those who passed on
what was not true?"
so We make the Signs
clear
and hopefully

and pants
and if you leave it
it puts out its tongue
and pants
that is the example
of people who
call Our Signs lies
so tell the story
hopefully
they will think about it
evil is the example of those
who called Our Signs lies
and it was to themselves
that they did wrong
whoever God guides
they are rightly guided
and whoever

to take the wrong way
they are the losers
We have created for Hell
many jinn
and humans
they have hearts
but do not
understand with them
they have eyes
but do not see with them
they have ears
but do not hear with them
they are like livestock

they are the ones

pay attention

so call Hu by them
and leave those
