God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
they will ask you about booty
say
"Booty belongs to
God and the Messenger
so be Mindful of God
and put things right
between you
and obey God
and Hu's Messenger
if you believe"
the believers are those who
when God is mentioned
their hearts tremble
and when Hu's Signs
are told to them
their belief grows
and they put their trust
in their Liege
those who make Sala
and give from
what We have given them
they are in truth
the ones who believe
they have high ranks
with their Liege
and forgiveness
and are provided with plenty
just as your Liege
brought you out
from your house
with the truth
and some of the believers
did not like it
arguing with you
about the truth
after it had been
made clear
as though they were being
driven to their death
with their eyes wide open
when God promised you
that one of
the two enemy groups
would fall to you
and you were hoping
that the unarmed group
would be yours
but God wanted
to prove the truth
by Hu's words
and to cut off
all that was left
of those who were
ungrateful
so that Hu could
prove the truth
and prove
the false
to be false
even though
those who did wrong
did not like it
when you were
calling to your Liege
for help
and Hu answered you
"I shall reinforce you
with a thousand Angels
following one another"
God only did this
to give you good news
and so that your hearts
would be at rest
help comes only from God
surely God is
All-Powerful
All-Wise
when Hu was making
sleep overcome you
making you feel safe
and sending down on you
water from heaven
to make you pure
and take away from you
the filth of Satan
and to make your hearts
stronger
and to make your feet firm
when your Liege was
revealing to the Angels
"I am with you
so make firm
those who believe
I shall cast terror
into the hearts
of those who are
ungrateful
strike their necks
and strike every fingertip"
that is because
they were against
God and Hu's Messenger
and for whoever is against
God and Hu's Messenger
God is
terrifying in repayment
that is for you
so taste it
that is
the punishment
of the Fire
for those who are
ungrateful
you who believe
when you meet
those who are
ungrateful
marching to battle
do not
turn your backs on them
whoever
turns their back on them
on that day
unless pulling back
so as to fight again
or pulling back
to support another group
they are loaded down
with the weight of
God's anger
and their refuge is
Hell
what an awful place
to end in
you did not kill them
God killed them
and when you threw
it was not you that threw
but God threw
so Hu might give
those who believed
an advantage
surely God is
All-Hearing
All-Knowing
that was for you
and God makes weak
the plots of those
who are ungrateful
if it is victory
you were looking for
victory
has already
come over you
and if you give up
it will be better for you
but if you return
We shall return
and your troops
will not help you at all
however many they are
God is with those
who believe
you who believe
obey God
and Hu's Messenger
and do not
turn away from him
even while you are listening
and do not be
like those who say
"We hear"
and they do not hear
surely the worst of beasts
in God's sight
are those that are
not willing to hear or speak
and unable to understand
if God had known
of any good in them
Hu would have
made them hear
but they would
still have
turned away
you who believe
answer God
and the Messenger
when Hu calls you
to what will give you life
and know that God
stands between
anyone and their heart
and to Hu
you will be gathered
and be Mindful of God
through a trial
which will not only hit
those amongst you
who do wrong
and know that God
is terrible in revenge
and remember
when you were just a few
victims in the land
afraid that the people
would snatch you away
but Hu gave you shelter
and strengthened you
with Hu's help
and provided you
with good things
so hopefully
you might be
thankful
you who believe
do not betray
God and the Messenger
and do not purposely
betray those who trust you
and know that
your wealth
and your children
are a trial
and that with God
is a mighty reward
you who believe
if you are
Mindful of God
Hu will show you
the measure of
right from wrong
and wipe away
your bad deeds
and forgive you
and God has
vast bounty
and when those
who were ungrateful
were plotting against you
to imprison you
or kill you
or drive you away
and they were plotting
and God was plotting
but God is the best
at making plots
and when Our Signs
were being told to them
they said
"We have already heard it
if we wanted to
we could say
the same as this
this is nothing but
fairy tales of old"
and when they said
"God
if this is indeed
the truth from You
then rain down upon us
stones out of heaven
or bring us
a painful punishment"
but God would never
punish them
with you there among them
God would never
punish them
as they begged for
forgiveness
but why should God
not punish them now
when they are
keeping you from
the Holy Mosque
and not protecting it?
its only protectors
are those who are
Mindful of God
but most of them
do not know
and their prayer at the House
is nothing but a whistling
and a clapping of hands
so now taste
the punishment
for being ungrateful
those who are ungrateful
spend their wealth
keeping others
from God's Way
they will spend it
then they will regret it
then they will be overthrown
and those who are
ungrateful
will be gathered into Hell
so God may make clear
the difference
between bad and good
and place the bad
one on top of another
and heap them up
all together
and put them in Hell
they are the losers
say to those who are
ungrateful
if they stop it
Hu will forgive them
what is past
but if they go back to it
they can see
what happened
to those in the past
already gone
fight them until there is
no more fighting against you
and the Way of Life
is entirely God's
then if they stop
surely God sees
the things they do
but if they turn away
know that
God is your Protector
the best of protectors
the best of helpers
know that
when you take booty
one fifth of it belongs to
God and the Messenger
for close relatives
and orphans
the needy and the traveller
if you believe in God
and what We sent down
on Our servant
on the day
when right and wrong
were made clear
the day the two armies met
and God
can do anything
when you were on
the near slope
and they were on
the far slope
and the caravan
was below you
if you had made
an appointment to fight
you would surely have
broken that appointment
but it happened so that
God could make happen
a matter that was
already decided
so that whoever died
would die by a Clear Sign
and by a Clear Sign
those who lived
would live
and surely God is
All-Hearing
All-Knowing
when God
showed them to you
in your dream
as just a few
if Hu had shown them
as many
you would have lost heart
and argued about it
but God saved you
Hu knows the thoughts
in the breast
God showed them to you
as seeming just a few
in your eyes
so that
God could make happen
a matter that was
already decided
and to God
all matters
are returned
you who believe
whenever you meet
an armed group
stand firm
and remember God often
hopefully
that way
you will have success
and obey God
and Hu's Messenger
and do not argue
amongst yourselves
and so lose heart
and your power leave you
be patient
surely God is with
the patient
do not be like those
who went out
from their homes
swaggering and boasting
to show off to people
and keeping others
from God's Way
and God surrounds
the things they do
and when Satan
made what they did
look good to them
and it said
"Today no-one
will beat you
for I will be at your side"
but when the two groups
came in sight of each other
it turned on its heels
saying
"I have done with you
I see what you do not see
I fear God
and God is
terrible in punishment"
those who pretended
and those
in whose hearts
was sickness
said
"Their Way of Life
has deceived them"
but whoever puts
their trust in God
surely God is
All-Powerful
All-Wise
if you could only see
when the Angels take
those who are
ungrateful
beating their faces
and their backs
"Taste the punishment
of the burning
that is for
what your hands have done
God is not unjust
to Hu's servants"
like the people of Pharaoh
and the people before him
they were ungrateful
for God's Signs
God seized them
because of their bad deeds
God is strong
and terrible in punishment
that is because
God would never change
a blessing Hu has given
to a people
until they changed
what was inside
themselves
and because God is
All-Hearing
All-Knowing
like the people of Pharaoh
and the people before him
who called
the Signs of their Liege
lies
so We destroyed them
because of their bad deeds
and We drowned
the people of Pharaoh
and they were all
wrong doers
surely
the worst of beasts
in God's sight
are those who are
ungrateful
who will not believe
those of them
with whom you have
made an agreement
then they break
their agreement
every time
they are not
Mindful of God
so if you come upon them
anywhere in the war
deal with them
in such a way
as to scatter
the ones behind them
hopefully
they will remember
and if you are afraid
of any kind of treachery
at the hands of a people
end your treaty
in the same way as them
surely God does not love
those who are traitors
and do not imagine
that those who are
ungrateful
have outdone Me
they cannot escape My will
arm yourselves
against them
with whatever forces
and horses
you can
that way to terrify
the enemy of God
and your enemy
and others besides them
that you do not know
God knows them
and whatever you spend
in the Way of God
will be repaid you in full
you will not be wronged
and if they lean
towards peace
then you lean towards it
and put your trust in God
Hu is
the All-Hearing
the All-Knowing
and if they want to trick you
God is enough for you
Hu has made you strong
with Hu's help
and with the believers
and brought their hearts
together
if you had given
all that is in the earth
you could not have brought
their hearts together
but God joined them together
surely Hu is
All-Powerful
All-Wise
O Newsbringer
God is enough for you
and the believers
who follow you
O Newsbringer
encourage
the believers
to fight
if there are twenty of you
and they are patient
they will overcome
two hundred
if there are a hundred of you
they will overcome
a thousand
of those who are
ungrateful
for they are a people
who do not understand
now God has made it
easier for you
knowing there is
weakness in you
if there are a hundred of you
and they are patient
they will overcome
two hundred
if there are a thousand of you
they will overcome
two thousand
by God's will
God is with the patient
it is not for any Newsbringer
to take prisoners
until he has finished
the killing of the battlefield
you want the goods
of this world
and God wants
the world to come
and God is
All-Powerful
All-Wise
if it had not been
written before
by God
there would have struck you
a mighty punishment
for what you took
so enjoy
what you have taken
as booty
that which is lawful and good
and be Mindful of God
surely God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
O Newsbringer
say to the prisoners
in your hands
"If God knows
of any good in your hearts
Hu will give you better
than what has
been taken from you
and Hu will forgive you
surely God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful"
and if they mean
to betray you
they have already
betrayed God
but Hu has given you
power over them
and God is
All-Knowing
All-Wise
those who believe
and made Hijra
and struggled
with their wealth
and of themselves
in the Way of God
and those who have
given shelter
and help
they are friends of each other
but for those who believe
but have not made Hijra
you have no
duty of friendship
owed to them
until they make Hijra
but if they ask you for help
for the sake of
your Way of Life
it is your duty
to help them
except against a people
with whom you have a treaty
and God sees
the things you do
as for those who are
ungrateful
they are protectors
of one another
unless you do this
there will be
fighting in the land
and great sickness
and those who believe
and have made Hijra
and struggled in
the Way of God
those who have given
shelter and help
those
in truth
are the believers
and they shall have
forgiveness
and be
provided with plenty
and those who
have believed
afterwards
and made Hijra
and struggled
alongside you
they belong
with you
but blood relatives
are closer
to one another
in the Book of God
surely
God
has knowledge
of everything
