be Mindful of

truly
the earthquake
of the Hour
is a mighty thing
on the day they see it
every woman
nursing a child
will forget about
the baby at her breast
and
every pregnant woman
will deposit
what she carries
and
you will see
humankind
drunk
but they are not
drunk
for God's punishment
is so dreadful
and there are people
who argue about God
without knowledge
and follow every
rebel Satan
about whom
it is written that
whoever takes them
for a friend
they lead them
in the wrong way
and guide them
to the punishment
of the burning
humankind
if you are in doubt
about the Rising
know that
We created you of dust
then of a drop of fluid
then a blood clot
then a lump of flesh
shaped and shapeless
so We can make things
clear for you
and We make
whatever We want
stay in the womb
until its appointed time
then We bring you out
as infant children
then you grow up
to be adults
and some of you die
and some of you
are returned to
the lowest state of life
when after having
once had knowledge
you again know nothing
and you see the earth
lifeless
until We send down
water upon it
when it stirs and swells
and bursts out
with growing pairs
of every joyful kind
that is because
God is the Truth
and brings the dead
to life
and is powerful
over everything
and because
the Hour is coming
no doubt of it
and God will raise up
those who are in
their graves
and among humankind
there are those
who argue about God
with no knowledge
or guiding
or a Book to shed light
turning proudly away
leading others astray
from the Way of God
for them there is
disgrace in this world
and on the Day of Rising
We will let them taste
the punishment of
burning
that will be for
what your hands
did before
and God is
never unjust
to Hu's servants
and among humankind
there are those
who serve God
on the very edge
if good happens to them
they are satisfied with it
but if a trial comes to them
they go back to
their old ways
losing both this world
and the world to come
that is surely
a clear loss
instead of
calling to God
they call out to
what cannot hurt them
and cannot help them
that is indeed
a great mistake
they call upon
what is more likely
to hurt rather than to help
to an evil protector
an evil friend
God will surely allow
those who believe
and do good deeds
to enter gardens
beneath which rivers flow
surely God does
whatever Hu desires
whoever thinks
that God will not help
in the present world
and the world to come
let them stretch a rope
up to heaven
and climb it
and see if that plan
takes away
what makes them angry
and so We have
sent it down as Signs
Clear Signs
and God guides
whoever Hu wills
as for those who believe
and those who are Jews
and the Sabaeans
the Christians
the Magians
and those who worship
partners to God
God will judge between them
on the Day of Rising
surely God is witness
over everything
have you not seen
how everything
in the heavens and the earth
makes Sajda to God
the sun and the moon
the stars and the mountains
the trees and the beasts
and many of humankind?
and many deserve
the punishment
and those that
God disgraces
have no-one
to honour them
and God does
whatever Hu wills
here are two groups
who have argued
about their Liege
as for those who are
ungrateful
for them will be cut
clothes of fire
and over their heads
will be poured
boiling water
which will melt
what is in their bellies
as well as their skin
for them are waiting
hooked iron rods
as often as
they try to get out of it
because of their suffering
they shall be put back in
"Taste the punishment
of the burning"
God will surely allow
those who believe
and do good deeds
to enter gardens
beneath which rivers flow
there they will be
made beautiful
with bracelets of gold
and pearls
and their clothing there
will be of silk
and they will be guided
to beautiful speech
and will be guided
to the path of
the All-Praiseworthy
but those who are
ungrateful
and try to keep people
from God's Way
and from the Holy Mosque
that We have made
equal to all people
those who live close by it
and those from far away
and whoever tries to
dishonour it
with injustice
We will let them taste
a painful punishment
and when We showed
Abraham
the place of the House
"You will not partner
anything with Me
and make My House
clean and pure
for those that circle it
and those that stand
and those that bow
and those that make Sajda
and announce the Hajj
to humankind
and they will come to you
on foot
and on every kind of
lean animal
and they will come
from every deep valley
so they may witness
things that are
of use to them
and speak God's Name
on days well known
over the livestock
Hu has provided for them
so eat from them
and feed
those who are poor
and in desperate need
so let them end
their unclean state
and let them finish
what they have promised
and circle around
the Ancient House"
that is it
whoever honours
God's sacred things
it will be better for them
with their Liege
and livestock
is permitted for you
except what has
already been told to you
and give up looking to
disgusting idols
and give up
telling lies
be people of
pure belief in God
and do not partner
anything with Hu
for whoever partners
anything with God
it is as if they have
fallen from heaven
and the birds
snatch them away
or the wind sweeps them
off to a far away place
that is it
and whoever honours
what God has made holy
it is because they are
Mindful of God
in their hearts
livestock can be
useful to you
until their decided time
after which the lawful place
for their sacrifice
is by the Ancient House
for every community
We have decided on
a holy ritual
so they may
speak God's Name
over the livestock
Hu has provided for them
your God is One God
so surrender to Hu
and give the good news
to those who are humble
whose hearts tremble
at the mention of God
those who bear patiently
whatever they are sent
to deal with
and who make the Sala
and give from
what We have
provided for them
and We have decided for you
that animals be sacrificed
as one of God's rituals
in which there is good for you
so say God's Name over them
when they stand in rows
and when they
collapse on their sides
eat from them
and feed those who beg
and the poor who do not beg
so We have made them
We have put them
in your power
hopefully
you will be thankful
their flesh will not reach God
nor will their blood
but your being
Mindful of God
does reach Hu
so Hu has put them
in your power
so that you might praise God
for having guided you
and give the good news
to those who do good
surely God will defend
those who believe
surely God does not love
any ungrateful traitor
permission to fight
is given to those
who fight because
they have been wronged
surely God has the power
to help them
those who were driven out
from their homes
for no reason
apart from that they say
"Our Liege is God"
if God had not
driven back some people
by means of others
monasteries and churches
and synagogues
and mosques
in which God's Name
is often mentioned
would have been destroyed
surely God will help
whoever helps Hu
surely God is
Tireless
All-Powerful
those who
if We settle them
on the earth
make the Sala
and pay the Zaka
and call people
to do what is right
and forbid what is wrong
and with God
is the end result
of all affairs
if they call you a liar
so too before them
the people of Noah
called him a liar
and Ad and Thamood
and the people of
Abraham
the people of Lot
and the people of Midian
and they also
called Moses
a liar
and I gave time
to those who were
ungrateful
then I seized them
and how dreadful
was their change
how many cities
We destroyed
while they were
doing wrong
and now all their
roofs and walls
are fallen in
how many ruined wells
and tall palaces
have they not travelled
in the land
with hearts to understand
and ears to hear?
it is not the eyes
that are blind
blind are the hearts
within the breast
and they challenge you
to hurry along
the punishment
God will not
break Hu's promise
and a day with your Liege
is like a thousand years
of your counting
how many cities
I have given time
while they were
doing wrong
then I seized them
and to Me
is the homecoming
say
"Humankind
I am only
a clear warner
to you"
those who believe
and do good deeds
they shall have
forgiveness
and a generous reward
and those who struggle
against Our Signs
to lessen them
they will be
the companions of
the Fire
We never sent any
Messenger or Newsbringer
before you
that did not have Satan
put ideas into his mind
when he was thinking
but God makes
what Satan has suggested
to be as nothing
then God
confirms Hu's Signs
and surely God is
All-Knowing
Wise
for Hu makes
what Satan suggests
be a test for those
with sickness in their hearts
and those whose hearts
are hard
and surely
those who do evil
are clearly split apart
and those who
have been given
knowledge
may know that
it is the truth
from your Liege
and believe in it
and their hearts
be humble to Hu
and surely
God always guides
those who believe
to a straight path
and those who are
ungrateful
will never stop
doubting it
until the Hour
comes upon them
suddenly
or there comes upon them
the punishment of
a day without hope
authority on that day
will belong to God
and Hu will judge
between them
and as for those
who believe
and do good deeds
they will be in
Gardens of Delight
but for those who were
ungrateful
who called Our Signs lies
for them is waiting
a shameful punishment
and those who
made Hijra in God's Way
or were killed
or died
God will provide them
with a fine provision
and surely God is
the best of providers
Hu shall let them enter
through an entrance
that is most pleasing
for them
and surely God is
All-Knowing
Gentle
that is so
and if anyone
gives injury
in the same way
they were given injury
and then they are again
done wrong
God will surely help them
and surely God is
the Destroyer-of-Bad-Deeds
Most-Forgiving
that is because
God merges the night
into the day
and merges the day
into the night
and surely God is
All-Hearing
All-Seeing
that is because
God is the Truth
and what they call on
apart from Hu
is false
that is God
Hu is
the All-High
the All-Great
have you not seen
how God has sent down
water out of heaven
and in the morning
the earth becomes green?
and surely God is
the Subtle
the All-Aware
to Hu belongs
all that is in
the heavens and the earth
that is God
Hu is
Rich-beyond-Need
the All-Praiseworthy
have you not seen
how God has given you
power over
all that is in the earth
and the ships
that run upon the sea
at Hu's command
and Hu holds back heaven
keeping it from falling
upon the earth
only by Hu's permission
surely God is
Forgiving-by-Nature
Ever-Merciful
to humankind
it is Hu that gave you life
then Hu will make you dead
then Hu will give you life
surely humans are
ungrateful
We have set
for every people
a form of service
they shall perform
so do not let them
argue with you
about the matter
and call
to your Liege
surely you are
guided straight
and if they argue with you
say
"God knows very well
what you are doing
God will judge between you
on the Day of Rising
concerning what
you disagreed on"
did you not know
that God knows
all that is
in heaven and earth?
it is in a Book
for God it is
an easy matter
they serve
apart from God
that for which
Hu has never
given permission
and of which
they have
no knowledge
and for those
who are unjust
there will be
no helper
and when Our Signs
are spoken to them
Clear Signs
you recognise
denial
in the faces
of those who are
ungrateful
they almost attack
those who
recite Our Signs to them
say
"Shall I tell you
of something
worse than that?
the Fire
God has promised it
to those who are
ungrateful
an evil homecoming"
humankind
an example
has been made
so listen to it
surely
those on whom you call
apart from God
will never create a fly
even though
they joined together
to try to do it
and if a fly
should rob them
of something
they would never be able
to get it back
how alike they are
weak and feeble
the one searching
and the one
being looked for
they do not measure God
with Hu's true measure
surely God is
Tireless
All-Powerful
God chooses Messengers
from the Angels
and from humankind
surely God is
All-Hearing
All-Seeing
Hu knows whatever is
before them
and behind them
and to God
all matters are
returned
you who believe
bow down
and make Sajda
and serve your Liege
and do good
so that hopefully
you will be successful
and struggle for God
a true struggle
Hu has chosen you
and placed no hardship
in your Way of Life
the Way of your father
Abraham
Hu has named you
the surrendered ones
in earlier times
as well as now
that the Messenger might be
a witness against you
and you might be
a witness against
humankind
so make the Sala
and pay the Zaka
and keep your Saum
for God
Hu is your Protector
an excellent Protector
an excellent Helper
