God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
blessed be Hu
Hu has sent down
the Measure
of right and wrong
upon Hu's servant
so he may be
a warner to
all beings
to Hu belongs the Realm
of the heavens and the earth
and Hu has not had a son
and has no partner
in the Realm
and Hu created everything
and ordered it precisely
but they have taken
gods for themselves
apart from Hu
that create nothing
and are themselves created
and have no power
over death or life
or raising up
and those who are
ungrateful
say
"This is nothing other than
a lie that he has invented
and other people
have helped him with it"
but it is they
who have done wrong
and told lies
they say
"It is fairy tales
of the people of long ago
that he has had written down
and read to him
in the morning and evening"
say
"Hu sent it down
Hu knows the secrets
in the heavens and the earth
and Hu is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
they also say
"What is wrong with
this Messenger
that he eats food
and walks in the markets?
why has an Angel
not been sent down to him
to be a warner with him?"
or
"Why is treasure
not showered upon him?"
or
"Why does he not have
a garden to eat from?"
those who do evil say
"You are only following
a man bewitched"
see how they
compare things to you
and go astray
and cannot find a way
blessed be Hu
if Hu wills
Hu will give you
better than that
gardens
beneath which rivers flow
and Hu shall give you
palaces
but they call
the Final Hour
lies
and We have prepared
a burning Fire
for those who call
the Final Hour
lies
when it sees them coming
from a far place
they shall hear it
bubbling and groaning
and when they are thrown
chained together
into a narrow place
in that Fire
there they will call out
to be destroyed
do not call out
for a single death today
call out for many
say
"Is that better
or the Garden
of eternal life
that is promised
to those who are
Mindful of God
and is their reward
and their home-coming?"
there they will have
whatever they wish for
living forever
that is a promise
a binding commitment
from your Liege
on the day when
Hu will gather them
and what they serve
apart from God
Hu will say
"Was it you
that led these
My servants
to take the wrong way
or did they
choose the wrong way
for themselves?"
they will say
"Glory be to You
it would not have been
right for us
to take protectors
for ourselves
apart from You
but You gave them
and those before them
days of enjoyment
until they forgot
to remember
and they were
a sick people"
so they call you a liar
with regard to
the things you say
and you can neither
turn it aside
nor find any help
whoever
from among you
does evil
We shall let them taste
a great punishment
and We did not send
any Messengers before you
that did not eat food
and walk in the markets
and We set some of you
as a trial for others
will you have patience?
your Liege is
All-Seeing
those who do not
want to meet Us
say
"Why have Angels
not been sent down to us
or why do we not
see our Liege?"
they have grown proud
within themselves
and become insolent
upon the day
that they see the Angels
on that day
there will be
no good news
for those who do evil
they shall say
"There is a barrier
a total ban"
We will approach
the things they have done
and make them
like scattered dust
those who live in
the Garden
on that day
will have
a better place to stay
a fairer resting place
upon the day
that heaven is split apart
in clouds
and the Angels
are sent down
in rows of glory
the Realm on that day
the true Realm
will belong to
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
and it will be
a hard day
for those who are
ungrateful
on that day
those who do evil
will bite their hands
saying
"If only I had followed
the Way of
the Messenger
how I wish
that I had not taken
so-and-so
as a friend
who led me astray
from remembering
after it came to me
Satan
has always betrayed
humans"
the Messenger says
"O my Liege
see how my people
have taken this Reading
as a thing to be ignored"
even so
We have made
for every Newsbringer
an enemy
from amongst those
who do evil
but your Liege
is enough for you
as a guide
and as a helper
those who are
ungrateful
say
"Why has this Reading
not been sent down to him
all at once?"
even so
that We may strengthen
your heart in this way
and We have spoken it
very precisely
they do not bring you
any examples
that We do not bring you
the truth
and better explanations
those who will be
gathered in Hellfire
on their faces
will be in a worse place
and will have gone
further astray
from the Way
We gave Moses the Book
and gave him
his brother Aaron
as a helper
and We said
"Go to the people who have
called Our Signs lies"
then We destroyed them
completely
and the people of Noah
when they called
the Messengers liars
We drowned them
and made them be
a Sign for humankind
and We have prepared
for those who do evil
a painful punishment
and Ad and Thamood
and the companions of
Er-Rass
and between them
so many generations
for each of them
We gave examples
and each one
We ruined completely
surely
they have come across
the city
that was rained on
by an evil rain
have they not seen it?
but they do not expect
to rise up again
and when they see you
they only want
to make fun of you
"What
is this the one
that God has sent
as a Messenger?
he almost led us
astray from our gods
if we had not stood firm"
surely they will know
when they see
the punishment
who is further astray
from the Way
have you seen
those who take
whatever they want
to be their gods?
will you be
a guardian for them?
do you think
that most of them
hear or understand?
they are like
livestock
no
they are much further
astray from the Way
have you not seen
your Liege
how Hu stretches out
the shadow?
if Hu willed
Hu would have made it
stand still
then We made the sun
to be a guide for it
then afterwards
We pull it into Ourself
pulling it in gently
it is Hu
made the night
to clothe you
and sleep for rest
and Hu made the day
for rising
and it is Hu
sets loose the winds
carrying the good news
of Hu's mercy
and We sent down
from heaven
pure water
so We might give
new life
to a dead land
and give it as a drink
to so many animals
and humankind
indeed We have
mentioned this to them
many times
so they might remember
but most people
are nothing but
ungrateful
if We had willed
We could have raised up
in every city
a warner
so do not obey
those who are
ungrateful
but struggle
with all your strength
against them
and it is Hu
set loose
the two seas
this one sweet
refreshing
the other one salty
tasting bitter
and Hu has set
a barrier between them
that cannot be crossed
and Hu created
from water
mortals
then gave them relations
of blood and marriage
your Liege is
All-Capable
and they serve
apart from God
what does not
profit them
or hurt them
and the one who is
ungrateful
always takes
the side that is
against his Liege
We have not sent you
except to bring
good news
and a warning
say
"I do not ask you for
a wage for this
only that whoever chooses
should come to
the Way of their Liege"
put your trust in
the Living God
Hu does not die
and call out Hu's praise
Hu is well aware
of the bad deeds
of Hu's servants
Hu created
the heavens and the earth
and what is between them
in six days
then sat upon the Throne
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
ask anyone
who knows about Hu
but when they are told
"Make Sajda to
the Fount-of-All-Mercy"
they say
"And what is
the Fount-of-All-Mercy?
shall we make Sajda
to what you tell us?"
and they turn
even further away
blessed be Hu
Hu has set in heaven
formations of stars
and has set among them
a blazing lamp
and a shining moon
it is Hu that made
the night and the day
one following another
for whoever
Hu wants to remember
or whoever
Hu wants to be thankful
the servants of
the All-Merciful
are those who
walk in the earth
modestly
and those who
when the ignorant
speak to them
say
"Peace"
who pass the night
before their Liege
in Sajda
and standing
who say
"Our Liege
turn away from us
the punishment of
Hellfire
surely its punishment
is dreadful pain
it is an evil place
to stay and to live"
who when they spend
are neither
extravagant or mean
but between them
is a better place
who do not call upon
another god with God
nor kill a soul
God has forbidden
except for justice
and are not unfaithful
to their partners
for whoever does that
will meet the price
of evil deeds
their punishment
will be doubled for them
on the Day of Rising
and they shall live there
in shame
apart from
those who are sorry
and believe
and do good deeds
for them
God will change
their evil deeds
into good deeds
for God is always
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
and whoever is sorry
and does what is right
truly returns to God
with their sorrow
and those who do not
wrongly accuse others
and when they pass by
worthless gossip
pass by with dignity
those who
when they are reminded
of the Signs of their Liege
do not turn around
deaf and blind
who say
"Our Liege
give us joy
from our partners
and our children
and make us an example
for those who are
Mindful of God"
they will be rewarded
with the highest heaven
because they
suffered patiently
and they will receive in it
a greeting
"Peace"
in it they will live
forever
what an excellent place
to stay and live
say
"My Liege does not
care for you
if you do not ask
but you have called it lies
and what results
will surely follow"
