the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
by those in ranks
and the warners warning
and those who speak
remembering
surely your God is One
Liege of
the heavens and the earth
and what is between them
Liege of the Easts
We have made
the lower heaven
beautiful
decorated with stars
to guard against
every rebel Satan
they cannot listen
to the high council
for they are stoned
from every side
driven away
they shall have
punishment forever
except for whoever
snatches a small part
and then is chased by
a stabbing flame
so ask them for an opinion
are they harder to create
than others We created?
We created them
from sticky clay
but you marvel
while they mock
and when reminded

and when they see a Sign
would make fun of it

We have made it as a trial

from a brew that is boiling

into Hellfire

taking the wrong way
and they follow
in their footsteps
and before them
most of those from long ago
took the wrong way
and We sent warners
amongst them
and see how
those that were warned
came to an end
apart from
God's true servants
Noah called out to Us
and how excellent
were those who answered
and We saved him
and his people
from great disaster
and We made
his family
survive
and left
those who came later
to say

We repay
those who do good

one of Our servants

then afterwards
We drowned the rest
and one of those who
followed his Way
was Abraham
when he came
to his Liege
with a pure heart
when he said
to his father and his people
"What do you serve?

of partner-gods with God
that you want?
then what do you think of
the Liege of
all the worlds?"
and he looked at the stars
and he said
"Surely I am sick"
but they turned
away from him
turning their backs
then he turned to their gods
and said
"What do you eat?
what is your problem
that you do not speak?"
and he turned on them
and hit them with his hand
then the others
came hurrying up to him
he said
"Do you serve what you make
and God created you
and what you make?"
they said
"Build a fire for him
and throw him
into the blaze"
they wanted to
get the better of him
so We made them the worse
he said
"I am going to my Liege
Hu will guide me
my Liege
give me a good child"
then We gave him
the good news
of a patient boy
and when he was
old enough to work with him
he said
"My son
I see in a dream
that I will sacrifice you
what do you think of this?"
he said
"My father
do as you are told
God willing
you will find me
one of the patient"
when they had surrendered
and he had laid him down
face to the ground
We called to him
"Abraham
you have
made your vision
true
this is how We reward
those who do good
this was indeed
a clear trial for you"
and for ransom
We gave him
a mighty sacrifice
and left

then We gave him
the good news of
Isaac
a Newsbringer
one of those who do right
and We blessed him
and Isaac
and of their family
that followed
some do good
and some clearly
do wrong to themselves
We also favoured
Moses and Aaron
and We rescued
them and their people
from great disaster
and We helped them
so that they had victory
and We gave them
the Book that makes clear
and guided them
on the straight path
and left
those who came later
to say
"Peace be upon
Moses and Aaron"
this is how We reward
those who do good
they were among
Our servants
who believe
and Elias was
one of the Messengers
when he said to his people
"Will you not be
Mindful of God?"
do you call on Baal
and throw away
the best of creators
God your Liege
and the Liege of
your families
from before
and long ago?
but they called him a liar
so they will be with
those condemned
except for
God's true servants
and left
those who came later
to say
"Peace be upon Elias"
this is how We reward
those who do good
he was among
Our servants
who believe
and Lot was
one of the Messengers
when we rescued him
together with his people
except an old woman
who stayed behind
then We destroyed
all the rest
and you pass by them
in the morning
and in the night
will you not understand?
and Jonah was
one of the Messengers
when he ran away
to the loaded ship
and cast lots and lost
then
the whale swallowed him
and he was to blame
now if he had not been
someone who glorifies God
he would have stayed
in its belly
until the day of
his being raised
but We threw him up
on to a wild shore
and he was sick
and We made grow over him
a tree of gourds
and We sent him to
a hundred thousand or more
and they believed
so We gave them
enjoyment for a while
so ask them for an opinion
does your Liege
have daughters
and they have sons?
or did We create
the Angels as females
while they looked on?
is it not their own lies
that they say
"God has children"?
they are truly liars
has Hu chosen daughters
rather than sons?
what is the matter with you?
how do you judge?
will you not remember?
or do you have
a clear authority?
