the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
Ha Mim
by the Clear Book
We have sent it down
in a blessed night
We are always warning
in it
every wisdom
was made clear
at Our command
We are always sending
as a mercy
from your Liege
surely Hu is
the All-Hearing
the All-Knowing
Liege of
the heavens and the earth
and all that is between them
if you are certain
there is no god but Hu
Hu gives life
and makes to die
your Liege
and the Liege of
your family from before
in olden times
but they are not sure
just playing
so be on the watch
for a day when heaven
will bring a smoke
that all can see
covering humankind
this is a painful punishment
"Our Liege
take the punishment
away from us
we believe"
how should they be reminded
that a clear Messenger
already came to them
but they
turned away from him
and said
"He was taught this
he is possessed"
see how We hold back
the punishment for a while
you are sure to return
on the day when
We seize them
with a mighty attack
then We shall take
Our revenge
already before them
We tested
the people of Pharaoh
and a noble Messenger
came to them
saying
"Hand over to me
God's servants
I am
a trustworthy Messenger
to you
do not try to put yourself
above God
I come to you
with a clear authority
and I take shelter
with my Liege and your Liege
in case you should stone me
so if you do not believe me
leave me alone"
and he called to his Liege
saying
"These are a people
who do evil"
"Set out with My servants
by night
surely you will be followed
and leave the sea
while it is still
they are an army
who will be drowned"
how many gardens
and fountains
they left
ripe crops
and noble houses
what wealth and comforts
they had rejoiced in
even so
and We gave them all
to another people
neither heaven nor earth
wept for them
nor were they given any relief
and We rescued
the Tribe of Israel from
the shameful punishment
from Pharaoh
surely he was
the most high of those
who go beyond all bounds
and We chose them
with knowledge
above all beings
and gave them Signs
in which there was
a clear test
these people say
"There is nothing but
our first death
we will not be brought
back into life
bring us our families
from before
if you speak the truth"
are they better
or the people of Tubba
and those before them
whom We destroyed?
they were surely evil doers
We did not create
the heavens and the earth
and all that is between them
to play a game
We only created them
in truth
but most of them
do not know
the Day of Decision
will be their
appointed time
all together
the day when no friend
can do anything for another
and they will not be helped
except the one
on whom God has mercy
Hu is
the All-Powerful
the Ever-Merciful
the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum
is the food of the guilty
like molten copper
bubbling in the belly
as boiling water bubbles
take them
and drag them
into the middle of Hell
then pour on their heads
the punishment of
boiling water
taste this
you so mighty and noble
this is
the very thing
you used to question
surely those who are
Mindful of God
will be in a safe place
amid gardens and fountains
dressed in silk and brocade
set face to face
so it will be
and We shall marry them
to wide eyed partners
there they will call
for all kinds of fruit
and be in safety
there they will not
taste of death
after the first death
and Hu will guard them
against the punishment of
Hellfire
that is
a favour from your Liege
that is
the mighty triumph
now We have made it easy
by your tongue
so hopefully
they may remember
so watch and wait
they too
are watching and waiting
