By the Name
God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
truly We have given you
a clear victory
so that God may forgive you
what you have done wrong
in earlier times and later
and complete
Hu's blessing on you
and guide you
on a straight path
and so that God
may help you
with a mighty help
it is Hu sent down
peace and calm
into the hearts of
those who believe
so they might add
more belief
to their belief
to God belong
the armies of
the heavens and the earth
God is
All-Knowing
Wise
and so Hu may let
those who believe
men and women alike
enter into gardens
beneath which rivers flow
to live there forever
and to wipe away
their evil deeds
and in God's sight
that is a mighty triumph
and so that Hu
might punish those
who pretend to believe
men and women alike
and those who set up
partners with God
men and women alike
and those who think
bad things about God
they will have an evil fate
God is angry with them
and has cursed them
and has made Hellfire
ready for them
an evil place to end
to God belong
the armies of
the heavens and the earth
God is
the All-Powerful
the Wise
We have sent you
as a witness
to carry good news
and a warning
so you may believe
in God and Hu's Messenger
and support him
and respect him
and glorify Hu
at the dawn
and in the evening
those who promise
to be loyal to you
really promise
to be loyal to God
God's hand
is over their hands
whoever breaks their promise
breaks it to their own harm
and whoever keeps
their promise made to God
God will give them
a mighty reward
the desert Arabs
who were left behind
will say to you
"We were busy
with our wealth and families
so ask forgiveness for us"
they say with their tongues
what is not in their hearts
say
"Who can help you
in any way
against God
if Hu wants to hurt you
or wants to benefit you?
God is always aware of
the things that you do"
no
you thought
that the Messenger
and those who believe
would never return
to their families
and that thought
pleased your hearts
and you thought
evil thoughts
and you were
a sick people
whoever does not believe
in God and Hu's Messenger
We have prepared
a Blazing Fire
for those who do not believe
to God belongs the Realm
of the heavens and the earth
Hu forgives
whoever Hu wills
and Hu punishes
whoever Hu wills
God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
the desert Arabs
who were left behind
will say
when you set off to claim
the spoils of war
"Let us follow you"
wanting to change
God's words
say
"You may not follow us
that is what God said before"
then they will say
"You are jealous of us"
no
they have not understood
except a little
say to
the desert Arabs
who were left behind
"You will be called
to stand against
a people who have
great might
and to fight them
unless they surrender
if you obey
God will give you
a good reward
but if you turn your backs
as you did before
Hu will punish you
with a painful punishment"
and there is no fault
in the blind
and there is no fault
in the lame
and there is no fault
in the sick
and whoever obeys
God and Hu's Messenger
Hu will let them enter
into gardens
beneath which rivers flow
but whoever
turns their back
Hu will punish them
with a painful punishment
God was pleased
with those who believe
when they promised
loyalty to you
under the tree
and Hu knew
what was in their hearts
so Hu sent down
peace and calm
upon them
and rewarded them
with a speedy victory
and lots of spoils of war
for the taking
and God is always
All-Powerful
Wise
God has promised
lots of spoils of war
you can take
Hu has hurried it
towards you
and held back
the hands of others
from you
so it can be a Sign
to those who believe
and to guide you
on a straight path
and other spoils of war
you could not take
God had taken them already
God is powerful
over everything
if those who were
ungrateful
had fought you
they would have
turned their backs
and then found
no protector
and no helper
that is God's Way
as it was long ago
and you will never find
any changing
in the Way of God
it is Hu held back
their hands from you
and your hands from them
in the valley of Makkah
after Hu had given you
victory over them
God sees the things you do
they are the ones
who were ungrateful
and barred you from
the Holy Mosque
and the offering
kept back
so as not to reach
the place of sacrifice
if it had not been
for some men
who believed
and some women
who believed
whom you did not know
and you might have
trampled underfoot
and guilt for that
could land on you
without your knowing
God brings
whoever Hu wills
into Hu's mercy
if they had been separate
We would have punished
those who were ungrateful
with a painful punishment
when those who are
ungrateful
filled their hearts
with a wild rage
the wild rage
of the Time of Ignorance
then God sent down
peace and calm
upon Hu's Messenger
and the believers
and tied them
to the Word
to be
Mindful of God
which they have
most right to
and they are
more worthy of
and God has
knowledge of all things
indeed God has
made sure that
the vision
Hu gave to
Hu's Messenger
is true
you will enter
the Holy Mosque
if God wills
in safety
your heads shaved
your hair cut short
with no fear
Hu knew
what you did not know
and gave along with that
a speedy victory
it is Hu
sent Hu's Messenger
with the Guide
the Way of Life
the Truth
to lift it above
every way of life
God is enough
as a witness
Muhammad is
the Messenger of God
and those who are with him
are harsh towards
those who are ungrateful
merciful to each other
you see them bowing
making Sajda
searching for
God's favour
and Hu's pleasure
their mark is on their faces
the trace of Sajda
that is their likeness
in the Torah
and their likeness
in the Gospel
is that of a seed
that puts out its shoot
and makes it strong
and it grows thick
and rises straight
upon its stalk
pleasing those who sowed it
so that through them
Hu may enrage
those who are
ungrateful
God has promised
those of them
who believe
and do good deeds
forgiveness
and a mighty reward
