By the Name
God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
you who believe
do not put yourselves
before God
and Hu's Messenger
and be
Mindful of God
God is
All-Hearing
All-Knowing
you who believe
do not raise your voices
above the voice of
the Newsbringer
and do not be loud
when you speak to him
as you are loud
one to another
in case your actions
should come to nothing
without you knowing it
those who lower their voices
when they are with
God's Messenger
those are the ones
whose hearts God has tested
to see if they are
Mindful of God
they will have forgiveness
and a mighty reward
those who shout to you
from outside
your private chambers
most of them
do not understand
if they had patience
until you came out to them
that would be better for them
and God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful
you who believe
if someone who
makes trouble
comes to you with news
make sure it is true
in case you
cause harm to people
without knowing
and end up sorry
for what you have done
and know that
the Messenger of God
is among you
if he obeyed you
in a lot of cases
you would suffer
but God has given you
love of believing
and made it pleasing
in your hearts
and Hu has made
it hateful to you
when you are ungrateful
disobey and rebel
those are the ones
who are on the right way
by God's favour
and blessing
God is
All-Knowing
Wise
if two groups
of those who believe
fight each other
put things right
between them
then if one of them
is unjust to the other
fight the unjust one
until they come back
to God's command
then if they come back
set things right between them
with equal justice
God loves those who are just
those who believe
are siblings
so make things right
between your siblings
and be Mindful of God
hopefully
you will find mercy
you who believe
do not let some men
make fun of others
who might be
better than they are
and do not let some women
make fun of others
who might be
better than they are
and do not find fault
with one another
and do not insult
one another
using bad names
how evil it is
to be given an evil name
after believing
and those who
are not sorry for it
they are the ones
who do evil
you who believe
avoid too much mistrust
mistrust is sometimes wrong
and do not
spy on each other
or speak badly about others
behind their backs
would any of you like to eat
the flesh of
their dead sibling?
you would hate it
and be Mindful of God
surely God is
the Accepter-of-Sorrow
Ever-Merciful
humankind
We have created you
male and female
and made you
different races and tribes
so that you may
know one another
the most noble of you
in the sight of God
is the one who is most
Mindful of God
God is
All-Knowing
All-Aware
the desert Arabs
say
"We believe"
say
"You do not believe
better to say
'We surrender'
for belief has not yet
entered your hearts
if you obey God
and Hu's Messenger
Hu will not make less
of what you do
in any way
God is
Most-Forgiving
Ever-Merciful"
the believers are those
who believe in God
and Hu's Messenger
and have not doubted
and have struggled
with their wealth
and with themselves
in the Way of God
they are the ones
who are truthful
say
"Would you try to teach God
what should be
your Way of Life
and God knows what is in
the heavens and the earth?
and God has knowledge
of everything"
they think they are
doing you a favour
because they have
surrendered?
say
"Do not think that
your surrender
is a favour to me
no
God has granted
a favour to you
by guiding you to belief
if you are telling the truth
God knows the unseen
of the heavens and the earth
and God sees
the things you do"
