The
Map
Room

Well, here we are again,

back at the Thruway for the Map Room,

but this time we're at the start of Level 2.

The Map Room,

where we try to understand

who we are,

where we are,

what we are here for,

and where we are going.

The Map Room is where we come

to understand the meaning of our lives.

And we need to keep coming back

because the way that we understand things

changes as we grow.

Kids don't understand things in the same way as babies,

then as teenagers they don't understand the world

in the same way that they did when they were kids,

and by the time that those babies get to be adults

they are usually seeing the world

in quite a different way.

And because our lives are all different,

and the world is so complicated,

it can be hard to see what ties it all together,

especially when what explains it all is not always easy to see.

And because it's not easy to see,

it can be hard to describe.

But the world of Islam has a language

to explain what ties everything together,

what unites everything

that we see, hear, and feel inside us.

And we already know the words that muslims use

to talk about these things,

but that doesn't mean we know everything.

No matter how old we are

there is always more for us to understand

about the meaning of our lives.

Does Allah have different Names?

Can God see and hear us?

Is God a he or a she?

What signs can point us in God's direction?

Are there different kinds of Angels?

Are there really beings called Jinn?

Does Shaitan exist?

What about Adam and Eve?

What about Messengers apart from Muhammad?

How is Muhammad different from the rest?

What happens to us after we die?

What happens at the end of time?

What brings Justice to our lives?

How can we know right or wrong?

Where can we go to find out how God wants us to live?

Do we need to do what God wants us to?
