You know, the colours of the rainbow come together in the world around us,

and lots of the colours that we know are made by mixing other different colours together.

But for some reason, when it comes to skin colour,

lots of people in the world think that only their own skin colour is beautiful.

Or sometimes the other way around,

and they think that their own skin colour is ugly

and someone else with a different colour looks better.

People with dark skin often want light skin,

and people with light skin want dark.

Then even when people have the same colour as other people around them

they still think some of them are beautiful and some are not,

because of the shape and size of their different bits and pieces,

like their noses, or their faces, or their legs or their bodies,

and often it depends on what they think and how they feel

about the way they look themselves.

But people not only see things in different ways, they even talk in different languages,

and that can also cause all sorts of problems

with one person not really understanding what another person is saying.

They don't always agree on what is polite, or what is going to offend someone.

People in different places can have a very different sense of humour,

and don't always find the same things funny.

And people can have very different ideas on how young children should behave.

And people in different places make and build things in different ways,

and have their own ideas as to what is beautiful and best.

But around the world, muslims try to agree that what is beautiful is what is good

and what is good is what is beautiful,

because in Arabic,

the language that was spoken by the Messenger,

the same word is used to mean what is good and to mean what is beautiful

In the world of Islam, the two should end up being seen as the same.
